Cursed Ronin

A few years ago, an industry professional reviewed my work and told me I had way too many robots in my portfolio. I wasn't aware there was such a thing as having too many robot designs. Are you even serious?

Anyway, on a serious note, adding different concept art to my portfolio boosted the number of opportunities that came my way, but also got me thinking, "What else do I like besides robots and sci-fi?"

It was a hard question to answer at first, but it's also one of those that has been there under one's nose forever. I read Samurai Fighting Fantasy books when I was younger, and as a European born in the Iberian Peninsula, I was enchanted by the Celtic and Visigoth culture.

The secret to making a work stand out, especially in client work, is to add a bit of yourself to it. That ingredient shows you love what you're doing, and I think that's essential for others to like it as well, which makes audiences buy the game or watch the film you're working on.
